Electrical Fitter Vacancy - Closed

A vacancy has arisen for an Electrical Fitter in our Mechanical and Electrical section. Qualifications required are indentured apprentices or equivalent preferable with City and Guilds certificates or equivalent and with at least five years work experience.

  1. Undertake craftwork within the respective trade.
  2. To provide general and specialist assistance to the Superintendent Electrical Services day to day control of the installation and maintenance of the Company’s electrical plant and equipment.
  3. To carry out installation, maintenance and repair work on plant and equipment, diagnose faults, effect repairs, and tests to equipment and place back into operation in accordance with good trade practice and remove transport plant and equipment.
  4. To tidy and clean up and ensure that the equipment, plant buildings, and surrounds are kept in a safe, clean and tidy state.
  5. To assist in the control of all electrical works carried out on the Company’s equipment.
  6. To engage in inspection, diagnostic, calibration and testing, maintenance and repair work, to ensure that all electrical plant and systems are operating efficiently and effectively.
  7. To carry out all maintenance and installation work of all electrical systems and ensure that this work is undertaken within allocated costs and within specified programme. To ensure that resources required are available to undertake this work.
  8. To assist the superintendent in the preparation of costing and programmes of work.
  9. To ensure that all electrical systems are working to within established design levels and parameters and anomalies are identified and promptly rectified. JOB PROFILE
  10. To inspect, rectify, and report on the condition of electrical equipment, recording anomalies, breakdowns, utilisations of spare parts etc, and to ensure they are promptly rectified.
  11. To undertake quality procedures and testing of equipment, software etc, including laboratory tests and instrument calibration (on and off plant).
  12. To undertake diagnostic and specialist maintenance work including work on software, PLC, telemetry equipment, and modifications to plant reflecting changes in operating and control philosophy under the supervision of the Electrical Superintendent.
  13. To accept, transmit or act on reports from the general public, Government, and other agencies.
  14. To drive company vehicles in connection with the performance of his/her duties.
  15. To assist senior staff with the collation/submission of operating data, information and personal records. To produce and modify engineering drawings, software and designs.
  16. To comply with plant, equipment and tools safety procedures and good working practices and procedures and other special instructions in force.
  17. To liaise with other sections of the Company, (in particular when undertaking maintenance work on equipment which may cause outage of plant, a disruption to service), Government and other bodies and to undertake other duties which may be required from time to time to ensure at all times that the customer gets the best.
  18. To participate in an after hours on‐call roster, to cover emergencies and unforeseen after hours work requirements.
  19. To carry out other duties appertaining to the grade in the operation and maintenance of all electrical plant and ancillary plant so as to ensure at all times that the customers get the best possible service.

  21. To be responsible for all tools, equipment and materials issued in connection with his/her work.

Craftsman Mechanical Vacancy - Closed

A vacancy has arisen for a Mechanical Fitter in our Mechanical and Electrical section. Candidates should have completed a recognised appropriate Indentured Apprenticeship or at least suitable training in the appropriate trade and passed a trade test.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  1. Undertake craft work within the respective trade.

Temporary Vacancy for the post of Clerk (Maternity Leave Cover) - Closed

If you are interested in working in the water industry and can work within a professional organisation dedicated to providing the best possible service to our customers in Gibraltar, then you could be a potential candidate to join our front line customer services team.

A vacancy has arisen for the temporary post (14 months) of Clerk in the Customer Services Department.

Applicants should be in possession of at least five GCSEs at grades A, B, C or equivalent. Passes must include English Language and Mathematics. Computer skills would be a great advantage.

The ability to work well within a team, show excellent communication and listening skills, be courteous and always treat customers with respect.

  1. Financial, accounting and administrative work associated with payroll, expenditure and income accounts, billing and collection of services to customers. Counter work including collection of payments/cashier work, banking and Customer Services, sales and reconciliation of payments, scrutinising and verification of accounts, claims and returns including the authorising of payments within set limits. Drafting of correspondence, processing queries and complaints and providing advice to customers as required.
  2. Operation of office equipment including word processors, typewriters, visual display units and keyboards via which data is recorded, retrieved and/or processed.
  3. Registry filing, reception duties and operation of a small PABX system.
  4. Any other duties commensurate with the post of clerk as required by management.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Staff will be interchangeable within sections as required by management.
  2. May be required to attend courses locally and/or abroad.

2) Ensure that job sites are left in a safe and tidy condition and to report any damages caused or likely to be caused.
3) Drive company vehicles in connection with his/her duties including the transportation of materials and/or staff. 
4) To implement new working procedures as directed. 
5) To provide feedback of information to the Craftsman or Superintendent as requested. 
6) To attend training courses as required. 
7) To comply with plant, equipment and tools safety instructions, adhere to safe working practices and procedures and any other special instructions in force. 
8) To be responsible for all tools and equipment issued in connection with his/her works. 
9) To undertake the opening, reinstatement, removing of rubble and final reinstatement of sites up to and including the cold asphalt course. 
10) To operate light mechanical plant and tools. 
11) To undertake general labourers’ duties. 
12) To perform other duties appropriate to the grade which may be required by the Managing Director or his/her representative.
